Οι συμφυρμοί στη γλώσσα του ποδοσφαίρου

Abstract

Blending is the process by which two words are combined in a single linguistic unit. Speakers may often create them consciously and intentionally for specific communicative purposes. Based on data taken from the language of football, this paper aims to examine the nature of blending. It focuses on the relation between blending and compounding, and attempts to define the structural and semantic restrictions of blending.
